This gift set was made for a manager of mine on her retirement. As my manager, Georgette was profoundly inspiring. I was surprised to learn later that she has a great love for butterflies so this gift was very well received..Nice!

For me, there is so much satisfaction in transforming a plain piece of white card stock. This card features the acetate butterflies I love making. While simple in overall design the focal point of this card salutes what can be achieved from combining watermarking, layered ink effects and heat embossing

Wonderful Bird

Lately I have been playing with acetate alot! This card started with the a water coloured background. In adding the bird but wanted to try something different so he's been stamped in Stazon Black onto acetate. The branch he is perched on is an extract from the same stamped image on kraft which has been layered underneath. To make the birds breast white I applied Stazon White to the underside of the acetate image. Additional elements were added to make this 'ode to nature'.

This another project that just evolved. I started with a stamp set I had not touched for a little while and chose to water colour in detail. Once the background was done I looked through all my odds and sodds to add some finishing touches. Wha laa!

When you have alot of left over craft material it pays to dabble with some new ideas...move out of your comfort zone. The dimensional effect in the label is from laying punched shapes one on the other. The flowers are made from a punch too. Old parcel tags can be a great foundation to a terrific piece of work. A great way to use up those little odds and sodds.

This is another piece where I started with white cardstock which was altered after applying a number of different inking techniques. The tassesl I made for the hat was the hardest thing about this project because it was so small.

I am really very proud of this freestyle piece made to honour a couple near and dear to me on their 45th wedding aniversary. Each panel piece started out as white cardstock which was transformed with versamark, stamped impressions, rolled ink and daubing.

I am sure by now you may have gathered I am partial to making a gift box or three. This box is made of white gloss card which has been stamped and embossed to add dimension and elegant texture. The slight colour applied has been water coloured for subtlety with the added finishing touch of an acetate butterfly on placed carefully on top as an additional element of interest...

Ok so I am fortunate in owning a Stampin'Up Sizzix Big Shot which I used to create the shape and texture to this Chocolate Box. I thoroughly enjoyed adding the finishing touches of lovely pink pirouette ribbon, paper flowers and scalloped circle embellishment...Sparkling!

Punches Three Hostess Stamp Set (Stampin' Up 115732) gives us some wonderful stamps to mix and match and use in conjunction with the large oval and square scallop punches. Here I've placed 'True Blue Friends' as though a title; to reflect the three scalloped squares off set to the right.

The Playful Petals Stamp Set (Stampin' Up 116332) is an inspiration to me. Here all the stamps within the set have been utilised. On white gloss cardstock different flowers have been layered in Bayou Blue and Pacific Point Inks to create interest. Bold flowers featured are water coloured using a blender pen. Selected petals have been cut away using a scalpel so the backing is revealed adding additional depth and rich clean colour.

Give the challenge a go....It's a hoot!

This piece is not my design but Leah's. Being as talented as she has created a funky modern yet retro finish. We made this as a project in a team meeting. It was actually this design that prompted me to look again at the Gallery Stamp Set.

It was only in July this year I signed up as a Stampin-Up Demonstrator. I was keen to get the message out there to those creative people around me that I was onto something new and exciting. When I saw the Mini Spring Catalogue I was just so excited that I could make my own invitations while show casing one of the stampsets newly available.

Gallery - Purple Province

Gallery was not a stamp set from the Spring Mini Catalogue I was interested in initially. However after spending time with Leah using this stamp set I was rapt. Sometimes others inspire us to see more opportunity. This piece makes the most of the stamps from gallery and challenged me to work with purple. I am not usually a purple girl either but can happily say I am really pleased with the finished item. I was influenced by French provincial style which you will see reflected in other finished items on my blog.

Tree Trimmings hold a special place in my heart at christmas time. Every year I look to have one new tree decoration for our Christmas Tree. As the years pass I have a gathered a sizable collection of tree trimmings that bring back memories of an event from the past. The year I bought my home I purchased a beautiful hallmark decoration of a robin red breast sitting in a bird house. This stamp set,Tree Trimmings caught my attention because of it's intricate patterns and elegant shapes. Watch my blog as I am sure you will see more examples of this set in application.

Choo Choo thats Right on Track

Here's a Choo Choo that's Right on Track! Again I am featuring a stamp set and wheel from the Mini Spring Catalogue. As I have a 9 year old, I am always on the look-out for stamp sets that will lend themselves to making papercraft items for boys. I am really happy with this finished item especially as I was able to blend in elements from the Loads of Love, Loads of Love Accessories and stem sayings stamp sets.

A Sense of Time

A Sense of Time is another favourite stamp set from the Spring Mini Catalogue. I made this for my recent launch workshop and am really pleased with the finished item. Spinner cards draw a lot of interest and surprise with people amazed that they can be made at home. I love embossing as it creates so much extra texture and dimension. I was really happy with the results when sponging ink on the clock to give an aged effect. The cogs have a rustic look too from stamping with a light colour then kissing another inked stamp against it before applying to paper.

Father's day is not far away and we are all thinking about what to make that special father in our lives. This was a make and take from my Spring Mini Catalogue Launch. Personally I am really pleased with this design as making ‘masculine’ cards can be a real challenge. People who know me well are more than aware of my love of ‘Wheels’. I love being able to make my own printed card stock which is just what I did for the lettering on this card. I was really happy with the results of the frame when Stampin Write Pens were used to ink and highlight. I enjoyed making the background as well as I was careful to have a small overlap of the designer paper over the wheel stamped image to give a guilt edged look. During the workshop the Baroque Border wheel (Stampin Up 109675) was available for those who wanted to vary their finished effect.
